Weekend Intake Coordinator Needed - Temp-to-Hire | $23-$28/hr | On-Site in Rockville

We're seeking a detail-driven, compassionate Intake Coordinator to join our client's organization dedicated to providing supportive care services. As the first point of contact for patients, families, and care partners, you'll play a key role in ensuring that individuals receive timely access to the services they need.

This is a part-time, hybrid role in Rockville with the exciting potential to become a permanent position.


What You'll Do

In this meaningful and fast-paced role, you will:

  • Serve as the initial contact for individuals requesting information or referrals.
  • Explain available care programs, service philosophy, and eligibility requirements in a clear, empathetic manner.
  • Gather and verify demographic, clinical, and insurance details from healthcare providers, facilities, and families.
  • Accurately enter and update all information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Track referral activity from start to finish, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with clinical and admissions teams to schedule evaluations and admissions.
  • Request and organize medical records and clinical documents as needed.
  • Provide basic explanations regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance provisions.
  • Work alongside insurance verification staff to ensure complete and accurate coverage details.
  • Maintain compliance with all privacy and regulatory guidelines.
  • Handle inquiries with professionalism, patience, and compassion-especially when callers may be under stress.
  • Complete required logs, reports, and documentation with exceptional accuracy.
  • Support internal and external partners with excellent communication and follow-through.
  • Pitch in with additional duties to support smooth daily operations.

May require occasional evening or holiday coverage.


What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field is a plus.
  • 1-3 years of experience in healthcare intake, admissions experience REQURED.
  • Experience with home-based care programs or supportive care services is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and EMR systems.
  • Outstanding communication-both written and verbal-especially with individuals in emotional or stressful situations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
  • A compassionate, patient-centered approach to every interaction.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Location: Rockville, MD - Training on-site during the week, then will become fully remote
  • Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm - Saturdays and Sundays only
  • Pay: $23-$28 per hour (temp-to-hire opportunity)
  • Schedule: Part-time, Weekends only
